How can we use blogs to improve classroom instruction and communication?

Blogs are an alternative for teachers to spark interaction and communication in the classroom using modern technology.

Akeem has something to say. He is too shy to express himself. Let’s create an avenue for him.

 Blogging would allow Akeem to :

• ·         Share ideas in a relaxed environment outside the walls of the classroom.

• ·         Develops his writing skills.

• ·          Improve his confidence, and self esteem.

• ·         Learn from other students’ point of view and writing styles.

• ·         Use blogging as an avenue for sharing and discussing on relevant topics mentioned.

• ·         Motivate him to do his work independently and creates a form of identity.

• ·         View the blog as a summary tool and a method of revision of content.
