The Poster
The Pamphlet
The Lesson Plan
My Portfolio Reflection
The teacher aids used for my Industrial Arts
2nd form class were in the form of a poster and a pamphlet. The poster made from manila, colored paper
and pictures was geared to give the students a visual of the types and
categories of woodworking tools. The
brochure, a handy reminder of information about the safety tips necessary when
using the tools. All items were prepared
with the versatile Microsoft Word.
Overall working with my partner, a
fellow IA teacher was great. We
collaborated well and shared responsibility towards creating the end
product. Our vision came alive and was
successful.
Creatively, the material could have
been presented differently, for example, a model tool box with pop-ups of the
tools could have been an option. Another
option could be making the piece more interactive where students could place
the tools in the different categories, and it indicate if they were right or
wrong giving immediate feedback, discovery learning. I have to ensure that my learning aids are
appealing to my adolescents’ audience.
Overall the process of using
Microsoft Word as a technological tool in preparing for my class was
fulfilling. I intend to integrate this
and may more relevant and suitable methods in the classroom.
